The college was initially established as Krishnaveni Degree College  in recognition of the contributions of Krishnaveni educational society . Over the decades, the institution has developed into a prominent centre of higher education in Narasaraopet, with a strong emphasis on academic learning, character building, social responsibility and employability.

The KRISHNAVENI DEGREE COLLEGE was started in 2005 with intake of just 50 students. The institute has been growing very rapidly both in quality and quantity with strength of 1774 in UG Programs and 86 in PG Programs. supposed to be one of the highest student intake in the area.  A thumping 2300 number of students got placements in various MNCs in the last five academic years, a record in the region of affiliating university

The institution offers programmes in areas including Arts, Science, Commerce and Management, supported by various academic departments and co-curricular activities.
